The first of the 2026 monthly Full Moon hikes is a Super Moon and will take place on Sunday 4th of January. The hike is technically a day late due to a scheduling conflict but the Moon will still be full, so we will head up to Paddy’s Top to watch the Sun setting before making our way across to the summit of Barnavave as the Wolf Moon rises over Carlingford Lough 🙂 This hike has some short, steep sections and uneven mountain terrain but it is doable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. Proper clothing, footwear and a torch are required. No jeans or runners please.

Duration: 3 hours approx

Difficulty: Reasonable fitness required

Please be aware that the walk leaves on schedule so allow yourself time to park and prepare.
