St. Patrick’s Day Hike
17 March 2024 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Let’s earn the fizzy drinks 😉 by heading up to the summit of Sliabh Foy, the highest peak on the Cooley Mountains and the highest point in Louth. This is always a great hike regardless of the weather although it is spectacular on a clear day with far reaching views over the rest of the Cooley Mountains and Peninsula, the Mournes, Carlingford Lough and Dundalk Bay. You can even see the Isle of Man, Lambay Island and the Great Sugarloaf 🙂 She is not the easiest of mountains in parts so a decent level of hill fitness is required as are proper clothing and footwear but the smug points you will have gained as you walk back into the village will be well worth it 🙂 No jeans or runners please.
Difficulty: Hard
Duration: 4 hours approx
Please be aware that the walk leaves on schedule so allow yourself time to park and prepare.
