This will be a gentle walk along country trails that will take us up past the Deserted Village to the Megalithic Tomb where we will sit to watch the Sun rising over Carlingford Lough. The Winter Solstice or Grianstad an Gheimhridh was a very important time to our ancestors and is a time when we welcome the return of the lengthening days. The ongoing battle between the Holly King and the Oak king continues. So, join me on the shortest day of the year to prepare ourselves for the cold Winter months that also hold the promise of warmer, brighter days to come.
