Let us say goodbye to the longest day of the year with a gorgeous hike up to the Cross on Barnavave where we can watch the sun setting behind the Cooley Mountains. The Summer Solstice was a very important part in our ancestors calendar and in a nod to their knowledge and wisdom about nature we will visit the Megalithic Tomb that sits just above our beautiful Deserted Village at the base of Maebhs Gap before making our way home along country lanes under the darkening sky. This is a moderate hike but the first part has some steep sections and it is mountain terrain so proper footwear and clothing are required as is a reasonable level of fitness.
