After being disrupted for the last couple of years, the annual St. Stephen’s Day Hike is back!! So, if you fancy getting out to walk off the spuds and chocolate (or just escape from the relatives for a while 😉 ) then join me on a refreshing hike up to the Cross on Barnavave and down through the Deserted Village at the base of Maebh’s Gap before making our way back to Carlingford just in time for seconds 🙂

This is a moderate hike with some steep inclines and descents but is doable for anyone with a reasonable amount of fitness. It is mountain terrain though so proper clothing and footwear are required.

Children over 8 years are welcome but must be used to the outdoors and hillwalking in particular and be properly equipped for the weather.

Duration: 2.5-3 hours approx

Difficulty : Moderate

Please be aware that the walks leave on schedule so please allow yourself time to park and prepare.
