According to the ancient calendar the 1st of February was the start of Spring, Imbolc, in Ireland. As a wee nod to this we will walk up to the Deserted Village on the lower slopes of Barnavave to watch the Sun as it rises over Carlingford Lough. From there we will make our way back along a lovely country trail to our starting point 🙂 This is a fairly gentle walk but there are some inclines, stiles and uneven ground so a basic level of fitness is required as are proper clothing and footwear. No jeans or runners please.

Duration: 2 hours approx

Difficulty: Not hard but uneven mountain terrain
