Join me for a hike up to the summit of Sliabh Foy, the highest peak in the Cooley Mountains and the highest point in Louth, with its wonderful views from every angle. We will then walk along the ridge with Carlingford Lough and the Mournes on one side and Dundalk Bay and the rest of the Cooley Mountains on the other until we reach the wonderful Eagles Rock. From there we will make our way down the hill and along the lower slopes of the mountain back to our starting point in Carlingford. This is a gorgeous hike. There are a steep ascents and descents with uneven mountain terrain so a decent level of hill fitness is required as are proper clothing and footwear. No jeans or runners.
