Sliabh Foy
23 November 2024 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Sliabh Foy is the highest peak in the Cooley Mountains and the highest point in Louth. On a clear day the views from the summit are truly wonderful with Carlingford Lough, the Mournes, Dundalk Bay and the rest of the Cooley Mountains surrounding the peak. These hills are filled with history and heritage and on a not so clear day it is still a beautiful hike with gorgeous flora, fauna and stories to keep us entertained along the way. The route we will take is a mix of on and off the beaten track and local trails. This isn’t a beginners hike due to the steep sections and uneven mountain terrain but it is doable for anyone with a decent level of fitness. Proper footwear and clothing are required. No jeans or runners.
Duration: 4 hours approx
Difficulty: Hard
Please be aware that the hike leaves on schedule so allow yourself time to park and prepare.
