This is a gorgeous walk to the peaks of Barnavave and Paddy’s Top which will also bring us past the old Lime Kilns and into the Deserted Village where we can have a wee rest and snack before making our way home. As always there are elements of history, heritage, nature and our wonderful myths and legends thrown in along the trail . It’s a beautiful hike with just enough challenges to earn a bun or two afterwards !

While it is a moderate walk there are some steep ascents and descents so a reasonable level of fitness is required as are proper footwear and clothing.
Be aware that the temperature is very variable at the moment so layering properly is vital. Light layers rather than one big coat and hats, gloves and waterproofs are the way to go .
