Booleys in the Cooleys
18 April 2022 @ 10:30 am – 3:00 pm
Rounding off the Easter Weekend of Walks is a big favourite of mine
. This is a moderate route that will bring us across to explore the beautiful Glenmore side of the hills before making our way back up and along the lower slopes of the mountain passing the sites of the fabulous Booleys that are dotted all along our route
.
Most of it is off the beaten track and the views and sense of history and heritage are amazing ![]()
While this is a moderate and sometimes gentle hike it is on rough mountain terrain and there are steep sections so a reasonable level of fitness is required as are proper footwear and clothing ![]()
Please note, my walks leave promptly at the advertised start time. The hikes are paced out and timed to allow for people who may be a bit slower on the hills, water breaks and photo stops etc and they are also timed to make sure we don’t miss a specific event as in Sunset or Sunrise. Earlier start times to allow for latecomers can result in too much time on the mountain in the cold waiting for the sun to set or rise.
We meet by the big tree on the green adjacent to the Carlingford Tourist Office car park.
